Christ Church Youth…Building Faith by just being together!
Christ Church offers two youth programs. Our "Jr. Youth"
is designed for youth in Grades 2nd-5th and our "Senior Youth"
fits into the busy lives of our teens in Grades 6th-12th! Both
programs offer opportunities for faith formation and
fellowship! Please join us! Remember, friends are always welcome.

Get to know our youth a little better by reading the following from this year's annual report...
The Annual Report of Christ Church usually gives me an opportunity to showcase the youth program of the past year! I could list what we have done together since last November; activities such as lock-ins with scavenger hunts, volunteering with fundraisers, assisting with local mission worksites, sitting around campfires, and speeding around go cart tracks, activities we did throughout the year. But reporting on such activities only tells you what we did, and not who our youth really are!
Last night I sat and played games with some of our youth ranging from Seventh to Eleventh grades. Through our laughter I realized that these youth could have been at home, watching TV, Playing video games, or even up to no good with other friends, but they chose to spend a few hours in their church with their church family, simply hanging out together! This is a blessing as are our youth a blessing to this church family!
On the door of the youth room is a banner which claims, “The Calm in the Storm” The youth named their Church School Class room four years ago. Most of those who selected these words to describe the youth room have moved into another segment of their lives, some in college and others finding that right career. My hope is that the Youth Program at Christ Church, on Sunday mornings during the Church School Hour as well as throughout the year in other areas remains “The Calm in the Storm “, a safe place for our youth to learn how to express who they are as followers of Christ, as well as a place where they can question and explore their faith together.
Our youth are not completely sheltered from life’s realities simply because they choose to be participants in life of Christ Church. I am not that naive! The bottom line, we have extremely active youth, and each after school activity or sporting event present additional responsibilities as a team member as well as exposure to added peer pressures. Our responsibility in this family of Christ is to make sure we continue to offer calm in the storm by supporting our youth in all aspects of their life, realizing that we might not always see them sitting in the pew beside us every Sunday. This does not mean they are not serious about worship or participating in the life of our church, it simply mean, at their young age, just like we adults, they are trying to organize their responsibilities. We are blessed with extraordinary young people at Christ Church. When was the last time you pulled a youth aside and told them how special they are in your life?
