                   CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN CONVERSATION

How is God still speaking ... currently and contemporarily?

This discussion group for young adults will focus on faith, love, how religion is relevant in life, silence, meditation, worship, and more.   The discussions will be held in the basement Social Room beginning September 12 at 9:00 AM.  They will be facilitated by Kendra Lauer and Jeff McCloud.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Kendra at 367-1986, or Jeff at 361-8317.

                                            LIFESEARCH 2010/11

Luke 11:9 reads:  "Here's what I'm saying: Ask and you'll get; seek and

you'll find; knock and the door will open."  (The Message)

If YOU are seeking some companionship on your faith journey, consider the LIFESEARCH class, which meets every Sunday morning, starting Septemebr 12, at 9:00 AM in the Library. You don't even need to knock ... the door is open, the coffee is hot, the topics are relevant, and the conversation's lively!  This intergenerational adult class is facilitated by Ann Dinsmore and Jo Hopwood, and topics follow the lectionary scriptures of the week.  Together we discover new ways to interpret and understand the many ways God is still speaking to us as individuals and as a faith community.  Marcel Proust wrote: "We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us."  Come discover your wisdom and share your journey with LifeSearch whenever you can!

Jr. Church” for the Summer of 2010!

Volunteers are needed to help lead “Jr. Church” during the 12 weeks of our summer worship schedule. Children from Kindergarten through 5th grades will gather at Children’s Time during Sunday worship. Afterward, they will go out to the Garden (weather permitting) or the Social Room for worship designed specifically for them. Again this year the children will be tending the garden. All food will be offered for purchase at the Produce Table. All proceeds from this table will be given to the Food Bank as well as any remaining fresh produce.

If you are interested in offering your time and talent for this wonderful program, be on the look out for the “Jr. Church” sign-up sheet which will soon appear on the “Church Happenings” board.

FROM OUR GARDEN ...

Each Sunday during the summer months our Confirmation I Class will be overseeing a table of home-grown donated produce during Fellowship Time. You may bring in any extra produce from your garden, place it on the table and others may “buy” the produce by simply making a donation. Nothing will have a price tag on it!  Produce from teh church garden will also be available.  All proceeds will be given to the Food Bank.
